In view of the current problems of high water consumption and energy consumption of the data center air conditioning cooling system, a data center cooling system using urban reclaimed water is proposed. The system recovers the cooling energy contained in the reclaimed water to reduce the water consumption of the data center cooling tower and the power consumption of the cooling tower fan, water supplement system and water treatment equipment, which has a very significant social and economic value. This paper takes a data center in Baoding as an example to analyse the application feasibility. The results show that compared with the traditional cooling tower cooling scheme, after using reclaimed water direct flow cooling, the annual water consumption and electricity consumption can be reduced by about 185 000 t and 802 000 kWh under the IT load rate of 70%, respectively, and the annual water and electricity costs can be saved by about 1.347 million yuan. The annual standard coal and carbon emissions can be reduced by 258 t and 466 t, respectively. The annual power usage effectiveness (PUE) can be reduced by 0.009 3, and the water usage effectiveness (WUE) tends to be 0. The system static payback period is 3.9 years.
